The IT Operations Coordinator ensures reliable, high-quality IT services by coordinating between staff, the service desk, infrastructure teams and external vendors.
Responsibilities include frontline technical support, diagnostics for hardware and software issues, and ongoing ICT maintenance. The role also covers staff onboarding/offboarding, asset management, change control, and security/compliance activities, delivering proactive problem resolution and a productive, secure user environment.
Capabilities and competencies
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous societies, cultures and issues affecting Indigenous Australians in business.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange Online and understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN).
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and safe computing practices.
- Working knowledge of endpoint/device management (e.g. Intune, Autopilot, device provisioning and decommissioning).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with experience supporting modern workplace environments (hybrid/remote users, device management, identity access).
- Ability to explain technical concepts in plain language.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, SaaS platforms and user access issues.
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks and manage time effectively.
- Collaborative, proactive, and solutions focused.
Qualifications and experience
- Relevant IT qualification (Certificate IV in IT, Diploma of IT, or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated experience in a similar IT support role.
- Experience supporting end users in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting both in-office and remote workers with connectivity and device issues.
- Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL Foundation).
- Experience in not-for-profit, government-funded, or multi-site organisations desirable.
- Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks or ISO standards desirable.
Additional requirements
This position is designated as requiring a satisfactory National Police Check as an inherent requirement. Appointment to the role is subject to the successful completion of a criminal history check and the provision of a clearance deemed acceptable by Supply Nation in line with policy. Rescreening is also required at regular intervals and under specific conditions.
