Your new role
As the Network Engineer, you'll be responsible for supporting and improving a secure, reliable and high-performing enterprise network environment.This is a hands-on position where you'll troubleshoot complex network issues, work across BAU and project activity, and contribute to improvements across networking, security and cloud connectivity.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and administering LAN, WAN, WLAN and hybrid network environments
- Managing networking and security technologies including Meraki, Fortinet, SD-WAN, firewalls and VPNs
- Troubleshooting complex network incidents and service outages
- Working across Layer 2/3 networking, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, segmentation and BGP
- Supporting connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and cloud services
- Delivering network upgrades, lifecycle projects and infrastructure improvements
- Working with vendors, carriers and managed service providers to resolve technical issues
- Improving network security, resilience, performance and availability
- Contributing to network automation and continuous improvement initiatives
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be an experienced Network Engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of complex issues and working across both operational support and project delivery.Ideally, you'll bring:
- Strong enterprise networking experience across LAN, WAN, WLAN, cloud and hybrid environments
- Hands-on experience with Meraki and Fortinet
- Strong knowledge of switching, routing, SD-WAN, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs and BGP
- Strong troubleshooting skills across complex network incidents and outages
- Experience contributing to network, WAN, security or cloud connectivity design
- Understanding of modern cyber security practices, including Zero Trust and Essential Eight
- Experience delivering network upgrades, infrastructure projects or technology refreshes
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with internal stakeholders, vendors and service providers
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, networking, computer science or a related discipline
- Experience with Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, NetBox or other network automation technologies would be highly regarded, along with relevant networking, security or cloud certifications.
