Senior Network Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a high-performing technology team responsible for the design, implementation, support and optimisation of complex enterprise network environments.

This role will suit a hands-on engineer with deep expertise across enterprise networking, network security and hybrid cloud connectivity who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working within large-scale, mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain enterprise network infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership for complex network projects and operational initiatives.
• Support and optimise LAN, WAN, wireless and remote access solutions.
• Configure and manage routing, switching and network security technologies.
• Deliver hybrid cloud networking solutions including connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve critical network incidents and performance issues.
• Implement network segmentation, security controls and Zero Trust principles.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation, design artefacts and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, cyber security and application teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Participate in technical assurance, service improvement and continuous optimisation activities.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Enterprise Networking
• Extensive experience supporting large-scale enterprise networks.

Strong knowledge of:

• BGP
• OSPF
• EIGRP
• VLANs
• VXLAN
• MPLS
• VPN technologies
• Network redundancy and high availability

Cisco TechnologiesDemonstrated experience with:

• Cisco Routing and Switching
• Cisco ACI
• Cisco ISE
• Cisco SD-Access
• Cisco Firepower

Cloud NetworkingStrong experience designing and supporting Azure networking solutions, including:

• Virtual Networks (VNets)
• ExpressRoute
• Azure Firewall
• Application Gateway
• Network Security Groups
• Hybrid Cloud Connectivity

Network Security

• Firewall management and security policy implementation.
• Network segmentation and micro-segmentation.
• DDoS protection and mitigation.
• Web Application Firewall (WAF) technologies.
• Zero Trust architecture principles.

Desirable Experience

• Australian Government or highly regulated enterprise environments.
• Infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Identity and access integrations with enterprise cloud services.
• Experience working within ITIL-based operational environments.

Relevant certifications such as:

• CCNP Enterprise
• CCIE
• Azure Network Engineer Associate
• Azure Solutions Architect
• CISSP or equivalent
