A little about the role
As Product Manager - Trade Account, you will be the accountable product custodian for Capricorn's flagship Trade Account, facilitating more than $4 billion in annual trade activity for over 30,000 Members. You will own its performance, governance, strategic development and ongoing optimisation across the full product lifecycle.
A major focus will be maintaining a resilient, compliant and commercially sustainable product in a changing financial services environment. You will balance regulatory and licensing obligations, assurance and delivery risk, future strategy and profitability, and the day-to-day management and maintenance needed to keep the product performing for Members.
Working closely with Credit, Finance, Risk and Compliance, Legal, Technology, Marketing, Sales and Distribution, Operations and Data teams, you will shape the roadmap, prioritise enhancements and lead initiatives that increase utilisation, improve Member outcomes and support sustainable growth. You will position the product for an evolving set of competitors, market dynamics and future compliance and licensing requirements.
What you’ll bring
We're looking for an experienced financial product leader who combines strong governance discipline with commercial judgement, strategic thinking and the ability to influence across a highly collaborative environment.
What’s essential
- Up to 10 years experience managing a financial product within banking, lending, payments, transaction products, insurance or broader financial services.
- Demonstrated ownership of a substantial financial product or lending portfolio, ideally at hundreds of millions of dollars in annual value or comparable scale and complexity.
- Strong product management capability across strategy, roadmap development, lifecycle governance, product performance, optimisation and day-to-day management.
- Deep understanding of product governance, regulatory compliance and risk management in a regulated environment, including experience working with Risk, Compliance, Legal and Audit functions.
- Commercial and analytical capability, with experience monitoring profitability, usage, forecasts and product performance and developing business cases or investment recommendations.
- Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and influence prioritisation, investment and delivery decisions across business and technology stakeholders.
- The ability to balance commercial growth, regulatory obligations, operational resilience and positive customer or member outcomes.
Highly regarded
- Experience with credit, lending, payments, transaction accounts or insurance products in a large bank, mutual, insurer or similarly complex financial services organisation.
- Working knowledge of AFSL requirements, AML/CTF obligations, financial crime controls and regulatory or licensing change.
- Experience enhancing digital or transaction products to respond to modern customer expectations, technology change and emerging market challenges.
- Experience developing products in a membership, mutual, cooperative or network-based organisation.
Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Finance, Marketing or a related discipline is preferred. Product management certification, relevant banking, lending, insurance or financial services qualifications, or postgraduate study will be highly regarded.
