- Investigate non-conformances, defects and failures, determine root causes, implement corrective actions and identify trends through the NCR register.
- Maintain material and equipment traceability, welding procedures and qualification records, inspection documentation and calibration registers.
- Evaluate and audit subcontractors and suppliers, monitor their quality performance and ensure work complies with relevant standards, codes, specifications and contractual requirements.
- Liaise with the client, certifying authorities, regulatory bodies, laboratories and project stakeholders on quality requirements, risks, inspections and reporting.
- Prepare accurate quality reports, monitor project quality risks and opportunities, and own quality close-out deliverables, including final MDR submission.
- Champion a strong safety and quality culture, continuous improvement and practical innovation across the project.
About you
- At least 8 years’ construction quality experience, including 3 or more years in pipeline construction and previous leadership of quality teams.
- A relevant trade qualification, with coating and/or welding inspection qualifications; an associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in welding and coating inspection and the implementation of welding quality requirements on major infrastructure projects.
- Internal Quality Auditor capability and strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, quality control principles and company management systems.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain Quality Plans, ITPs, traceability systems, audit programs, NCR processes and quality close-out documentation.
- Strong pipeline engineering and construction knowledge, with the ability to translate field issues into practical, compliant solutions.
- Excellent leadership, planning, problem-solving, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative, resilient and detail-focused approach, with clear communication skills and a positive, adaptable attitude.
