About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Safety Officer to join our Manufacturing team. In this role, you will lead, implement, and monitor health and safety practices across our manufacturing facility. You will be instrumental in ensuring a safe working environment by identifying and reducing risks, maintaining WHS compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture through training, audits, and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead incident investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and close out workplace hazards in a timely and effective manner.
  • Conduct regular safety patrols, workplace inspections, and maintain detailed records in DoneSafe.
  • Organise and lead toolbox talks and safety meetings, documenting and uploading minutes.
  • Ensure all safety and emergency equipment is routinely inspected, maintained, and documented.
  • Monitor factory emergency preparedness, support fire drills, and assist with evacuation planning.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and contribute to the continuous improvement of WHS procedures.
  • Support trainers in delivering health and safety inductions for new team members.
  • Maintain safety noticeboards and relevant WHS documentation across the site.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong technical knowledge of WHS compliance combined with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You thrive in a collaborative manufacturing environment and are passionate about driving continuous improvement in safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS).
  • Minimum of 2 year of experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Sound knowledge of WHS compliance, hazard/risk assessment techniques, root cause analysis, and experience using safety management systems (e.g., DoneSafe).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, logical problem-solving abilities, a continuous improvement mindset, and a strong track record of teamwork and cross-departmental cooperation.
