Manager HSE Western Region
The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manager HSE Western Region to join our Industrial and Energy business. Reporting to the Head of HSEQ Industrial and Energy, you will provide strategic health, safety and environmental leadership across our Western Region operations. As a trusted business partner, you will work closely with operational leaders, clients and stakeholders to support the successful delivery of projects while protecting our people, the environment, local communities and the reputation of the business. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving HSE performance, strengthening assurance and governance activities, developing capability across teams and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. The role provides broad exposure across complex and high risk operational environments and requires regular travel to project sites, including remote locations. Key responsibilities include:- Partnering with operational leaders to implement and continually improve HSE strategies and initiatives
- Providing strategic advice on HSE risks, legislative compliance and business performance
- Leading assurance programs including audits, inspections, verifications and management reviews
- Supporting critical risk management and verification of control effectiveness
- Leading significant incident investigations and driving effective corrective actions
- Developing HSE capability through coaching, mentoring and leadership support
- Monitoring performance through data analytics, reporting and digital tools
- Building strong relationships with clients, regulators, contractors and industry stakeholders
What we're looking for
You are an influential and collaborative HSE leader with strong commercial acumen and a demonstrated ability to drive positive safety outcomes across diverse operational environments.To be successful in this role, you will bring:- Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related discipline
- Relevant professional HSE certification
- ICAM Lead Investigator qualification or equivalent
- Lead Auditor qualification highly regarded
- Current driver's licence
- Minimum 10 years' experience in senior HSE leadership roles within high risk industries
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Experience leading assurance, compliance and governance programs
- Demonstrated capability in critical risk management and incident investigation
- Experience supporting contractor management and operational project delivery
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Experience using data analytics, Power BI and digital solutions to support decision making
- A proactive, resilient and solutions focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvementExperience within industrial, construction, utilities, energy, mining, power generation or related sectors will be highly regarded.
