About the Opportunity
- Join a high-profile modernisation program within a Federal Government environment, driving the strategic alignment and architecture of core enterprise systems.
- Play a critical, hands-on role in shaping enterprise applications, migrating to cloud environments, and guiding government ICT transformation.
What's On Offer
- Contract/Engagement: Initial contract ASAP to 30 June 2027 + 2x extension options (up to 24 months total).
- Rate/Salary: Competitive Market Rate
- Location & Flexibility: Canberra, ACT preferred (other major capital city locations considered). Flexible hybrid working arrangements offered.
Role & Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to the review, development, and sustainment of application governance artefacts, including strategies, technology roadmaps, policies, and practices.
- Conduct targeted technical reviews of existing on-premise and cloud application deployments, identifying risks, issues, and actionable recommendations.
- Partner with IT, business stakeholders, and development teams to provide strategic oversight and practical assistance with scoping, costing, planning, and delivery.
- Ensure all technical solutions consistently comply with relevant security standards, policies, and architectural frameworks.
- Evaluate requests for technical deviations or specification changes, recommending appropriate action to governance bodies and delegates.
- Drive solution design outcomes across complex enterprise platforms operating within Agile program environments.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:
- Technical Toolkit: Strong expertise across solution and application architecture, cloud design principles, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms, and ServiceNow.
- Experience: 5+ years of demonstrated experience as a Solution/Application Architect, ideally delivering large-scale ICT transformations within a Commonwealth Government setting.
- Core Capabilities: Excellent analytical and risk-management skills, paired with well-developed communication capabilities to translate complex technical concepts into Plain English for business stakeholders.
Eligibility & Clearance Requirements
- Security Clearance: Due to the nature of this environment, candidates must hold a current NV1 security clearance (or hold a Baseline clearance with the ability to obtain an NV1).
- Citizenship: Candidates must hold Australian Citizenship.
