Solution Architect
Job description
About Us 🚀
Bridgit is a leading non-bank lender transforming the way Australians access property equity. Purpose-built to make property transactions faster and easier, we pioneered the Buy Now, Sell Later solution - empowering homeowners to unlock their property equity and move on their terms. With a simple digital application, fast approvals, and flexible loan options, we're making property finance seamless and stress-free.
We're now five years old and making huge strides. We've accredited over three-quarters of Australia's broker network, and launched white label solutions with Australia's largest aggregators - Connective, Aussie Home Loans, Finsure, and Loan Market Group - and we're just getting started.
Our momentum has been recognised with awards including Best Growth Story at the 2025 Fintech Awards, the 2025 Finder People's Choice Award for Lending Innovation, Deloitte's Tech Fast 50 2025, and a place among LinkedIn's Top 20 Startups in Australia 2025.
The difference you'll make
As our Solution Architect, you'll be the person who makes sure what we build today still works for the business we're becoming. You'll sit across Product and Engineering, turning business needs into clear, scalable and secure designs that our teams can deliver with confidence.
You'll shape how our core lending platform, broker and aggregator integrations, and AI capabilities (including ATLAS, our multi-agent orchestration platform) fit together. This is a hands-on architecture role for someone who is comfortable in the detail, can explain trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders, and wants to see their designs make it into production.
What you'll do
- Solution design: Translate business and product requirements into clear solution designs, covering components, data flows, integration points and non-functional requirements.
- Architecture ownership: Define and maintain the target-state and reference architecture across loan origination, credit decisioning, settlements, broker and aggregator channels, and customer-facing applications.
- Integration: Design API-led and event-driven integrations with aggregators, brokers and third-party providers (such as valuation, identity verification, credit bureau and settlement partners) that are reliable, secure and easy to evolve.
- AI alignment: Work with the Lead AI Engineer and AI Engineering team to make sure ATLAS and other AI capabilities integrate cleanly with core systems and follow consistent architectural standards.
- Build vs buy: Evaluate vendors, platforms and tooling, and make clear, well-reasoned recommendations that balance speed, cost, risk and long-term maintainability.
- Security, privacy and compliance: Embed security and data privacy into every design, in line with our regulatory obligations as a credit licensee, Bridgit's AI Governance Framework and Risk Appetite Statement.
- Technical leadership: Run design reviews, record architecture decisions, and coach engineers on patterns and good practice, without becoming a bottleneck.
- Delivery partnership: Work with Product and Engineering leads to size, sequence and de-risk work on the roadmap, and flag technical debt and dependencies early.
- Operational excellence: Design for performance, resilience, observability and cost, so what we ship is easy to run and support.
- Lead with AI-enabled ways of working: Use standardised AI coding and design tools in your own work and share practical workflows that lift the quality and speed of the wider team.
What we're looking for:
- 7+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a solution, enterprise or technical architecture role, ideally in a regulated fintech, lending or financial services environment.
- Proven experience designing and delivering distributed, cloud-based systems on a major platform such as AWS.
- Strong grounding in API design, integration patterns and event-driven architecture, including working with third-party and partner systems.
- A solid understanding of security, data privacy and resilience in regulated environments.
- Exposure to AI and LLM-enabled systems, including how they integrate with core platforms, and an appreciation of governance, cost and observability.
- Clear, confident communicator who can take a complex technical idea and make it simple for executives, product teams and engineers alike.
- A pragmatic, delivery-first mindset. You'd rather ship a sound design than polish a perfect diagram.
- Curious, collaborative and authentic, with the drive to own your area of the business.
- Bonus: experience with loan origination or credit decisioning platforms, or the broker and aggregator ecosystem.
