Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced and detail-driven Statutory Reporting Manager to lead and deliver accurate, timely and compliant statutory financial reporting across our Oceania cluster and APAC region. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary technical accounting authority, ensuring the consistent application of accounting policies and maintaining the integrity of external financial reporting.

You will take responsibility for preparing consolidated financial statements, managing the annual audit process, and providing technical accounting guidance to finance teams and business stakeholders. You will coordinate month-end and year-end financial reporting, oversee budget and forecast preparation, and provide strategic leadership to develop and strengthen the accounting team. As the organisation grows, you will play a key role in enhancing financial controls, embedding sound accounting practices, and ensuring seamless data integration across our centralised accounting systems.

Key

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, reconcile, and consolidate accurate monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow) for group companies across Oceania
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end financial close processes, managing the preparation and consolidation of statutory accounts for ASIC lodgement
  • Lead and manage the annual external audit process, coordinating with external auditors and resolving audit-related issues
  • Provide technical accounting leadership and guidance to finance teams on the application of accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate and prepare accurate monthly financial reports with variance analysis for management and regional offices
  • Assist with preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Support the development of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards
  • Train and develop quality staff to ensure competency and succession planning within the accounting function
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance financial controls and reporting efficiency
  • Advise on accounting issues and provide technical guidance to stakeholders
  • Assist with internal and external audit processes and resolve audit findings
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as directed by Finance & Accounting senior leaders

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, supported by professional accounting qualifications (CPA or CA)
  • Minimum 5-7 years of post-qualification experience in financial accounting and statutory reporting
  • Strong experience in an accounting role within a multinational organisation
  • Audit experience with a Big 4 firm or equivalent is highly preferred
  • Expert knowledge of financial accounting, auditing, taxation, regulatory and legal requirements
  • Proven experience with statutory reporting, group consolidations, and year-end account preparation
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively within demanding timeframes and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with ability to manage, coach and develop staff
  • High ethical standards with ability to handle highly confidential information
