APS6 Wintel Infrastructure Engineer - National Security / Defence

Location: ACT or VIC

Contract: 12 months, with 2 x 12-month extension options

Pay: $90 - $100 p/h including super (negotiable)

Work type: Full-time, up to 40 hours per week

Work arrangement: Onsite, with specific arrangements agreed with your supervisor on a case-by-case basis

Clearance: Must hold a current NV2 clearance or above

About the Role

This is a hands-on Wintel security engineering role with our Federal Government client. You will help harden enterprise Windows infrastructure and improve security across a sensitive national security environment. You will implement security controls, develop SOPs, prototype security configurations and support technical design and remediation activities. You will also use scripting or application development to automate administration, vulnerability assessment and cyber-risk remediation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Implement security controls to improve enterprise security posture
  • Develop SOPs for security and administrative tasks
  • Facilitate and participate in security design and remediation workshops
  • Prototype security configurations to support technical advice
  • Automate system administration and vulnerability assessment activities
  • Develop tools that help assess or remediate cyber risks
  • Support Active Directory security remediation
  • Work across enterprise Wintel infrastructure in a sensitive environment
What You Bring (Essential Criteria)

  • You've built at least 5 years of technical Cyber Security experience
  • You've worked hands-on with security across enterprise systems
  • You've implemented one or more Essential Eight Mitigation Strategies
  • You can use scripting or application development to automate system administration, vulnerability assessment or cyber-risk remediation
  • You're an Australian citizen
  • You must hold a current NV2 clearance or above
Nice to Have (Desirable Criteria)
  • Experience with cloud systems such as Azure or AWS
  • Experience evaluating and implementing remediation linked to Active Directory compromise detection and mitigation
