This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Representative - West based in Canada.
This is a fully remote sales opportunity focused on generating qualified pipeline across a defined Western territory. You will be responsible for identifying high-value accounts, engaging multiple buyer personas, and creating meaningful first conversations. Working closely with Account Executives, Marketing, and Customer Success, you will turn targeted prospecting into qualified sales opportunities. The role combines research, strategic outreach, discovery, relationship building, and disciplined pipeline management. You will use modern sales technologies and AI-enabled workflows to make prospecting more efficient and personalized. Extensive onboarding and training will help you build strong knowledge of DevOps and enterprise technology while developing your sales skills. For high-performing professionals, the role can provide a strong pathway toward future Account Executive opportunities.
Accountabilities
- Execute outbound prospecting campaigns across an assigned territory to generate qualified meetings and sales pipeline.
- Identify and develop both new-logo opportunities and expansion opportunities within existing customer accounts.
- Research target organizations, identify relevant decision-makers, uncover business triggers, and develop personalized engagement strategies.
- Conduct initial discovery conversations to understand business needs, qualify prospects, and create Sales Accepted Opportunities.
- Consistently achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for BDR-sourced Sales Accepted Opportunities.
- Build and execute multi-channel prospecting sequences using phone, email, social selling, and other appropriate channels.
- Manage prospecting activity, opportunity information, and pipeline data accurately within Salesforce.
- Use tools such as Sales Navigator, Outreach, and similar platforms to organize outreach and improve engagement and conversion.
- Partner with Field, Corporate, and Digital Marketing teams to develop account lists, campaigns, messaging, and call strategies.
- Collaborate with Account Executives and Customer Success teams to ensure qualified opportunities are effectively transitioned and developed.
- Participate in regional events, trainings, team activities, and customer engagements to build relationships and generate qualified opportunities.
- Document and continuously improve business development processes, playbooks, and best practices.
- Support the onboarding and development of new BDRs by sharing knowledge, processes, and account strategies.
Requirements
- Previous professional experience in a technology-industry outbound sales development or business development role.
- Strong phone presence, active listening skills, persuasive communication, and excellent written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of prospecting activity while maintaining organization, quality, and consistent follow-through.
- Experience independently executing outbound sequences across multiple channels, including calls, email, and social outreach.
- Strong research and prioritization skills, with the ability to identify relevant accounts, stakeholders, business needs, and compelling events.
- Proven initiative, resilience, and persistence when navigating prospecting challenges and setbacks.
- Ability to independently own projects and activities through to measurable outcomes.
- Understanding of business processes, organizational structures, and the roles involved in technology purchasing decisions.
- Proficiency with Salesforce and familiarity with Sales Navigator, Outreach, or comparable CRM and sales engagement platforms.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel periodically for team events, training, customer meetings, or other business activities.
- Professional proficiency in English is required for effective communication.
