Job Opportunity:
We're looking for a full-time Controls Programmer to develop software and control systems for specialized automated equipment.

What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, and Department Leaders to support project execution and delivery
- Partner with Sales, Mechanical Design, Controls Design, and Project Management teams during the concept, scope, and engineering phases of projects
- Work alongside electricians and fellow programmers to support machine build, integration, and commissioning activities
- Design, program, test, and commission automation systems including:
- Assembly Systems
- Material Handling Systems
- Robotic Cells
- Vision Inspection Systems
- Industrial Safety Systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues during build, testing, and startup
- Maintain program backups and documentation in accordance with Mecsmart standards
- Support project scheduling, milestone achievement, and budget requirements
- Communicate project status, technical concerns, and solutions effectively with customers and internal stakeholders
- Travel occasionally, including global travel opportunities, to support customer installations and commissioning activities
What you’ll need:
- Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent Specialized Experience
- Minimum 2+ Years’ Experience within the Automation or Automotive Manufacturing Field
- Welding technology training would be an asset
- Previous experience required with the following software packages:
- Rockwell Studio 5000
- Siemens TIA Portal
- Omron CX-One/Omron Sysmac Studio
- Knowledge and ability to program Robots would be an asset:
- ABB
- Fanuc
- Continuous learning, growth and development
- Work cooperatively with others and contribute to a positive workplace
- Ability to manage tasks and use technology, resources, and time efficiently
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to perform multiple technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions
