What this role is all about:

The Product Manager is responsible for the success of an assigned product. Working within the strategic direction established by the Principal Product Manager and AVP, Product Management, the Product Manager owns product discovery, product delivery priorities, roadmap execution, backlog prioritization, and measurable member and business outcomes. The Product Manager works with stakeholders to identify member problems, validate opportunities, and deliver solutions that create value for members and Beem. The Product Manager combines strategic product management and product ownership responsibilities, ensuring alignment between long-term product goals and day-to-day delivery execution. The Product Manager is accountable for ensuring the team is solving the right member and business problems while maintaining sufficient involvement in delivery to ensure priorities, epics, and backlog execution remain aligned to desired outcomes. The Product Manager serves as the primary bridge between business needs, member needs, design, technology, and delivery teams.

This role is open to hybrid/remote working arrangements within British Columbia.

What you’ll do:

Product Strategy, Research & Development

  • Define and manage the product vision, objectives, and roadmap for an assigned product, ensuring alignment with portfolio strategy and organizational priorities.
  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with strategic objectives and member needs.
  • Lead ongoing product discovery activities including member research, journey analysis, opportunity assessment, hypothesis development, experimentation, and validation.
  • Maintain proactive awareness of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape; evaluate competitor product and, their effectiveness in meeting member needs, and potential improvements.
  • Champion the process of product development and innovation from ideation, through testing, business case development, product launch and in-market performance.
  • Advocate for digital-first solutions by identifying unique opportunities and challenges.
  • Continuously refine product goals based on analytics, user feedback, and market trends.
  • Manage processes of transition and retirement of existing products.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring work aligns with product objectives, roadmap commitments, member outcomes, and business priorities.
  • Translate product strategy into actionable epics and features, partnering with Business Analysts, Design, and Technology teams to support story development, acceptance criteria definition, and delivery readiness.
  • Support the Principal Product Manager by contributing to pricing recommendations, business casing, go-to-market planning, and financial assessment against targets.

Product Analytics

  • Define, monitor, and report on product OKRs, KPIs, and performance metrics that measure member value, product adoption, product usage, and business outcomes.
  • Track and analyze product performance through metrics such as user engagement, conversion rates, member feedback and market trends or other KPI’s as appropriate for each product for continuous product improvement.
  • Utilize various data analysis techniques and tools to derive actionable insights that inform product development, feature prioritization, and optimization efforts.

Product Delivery and Backlog Management

Own and prioritize the product backlog.

  • Define and maintain epics and feature priorities aligned to roadmap objectives.
  • Partner with Business Analysts to refine requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in all Agile/Scrum activities including stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, release planning, and retros.
  • Make prioritization decisions and trade-offs based on product outcomes, member value, risk, effort, and strategic objectives.
  • Ensure delivery teams understand the desired business outcomes and success measures for work being undertaken.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Design and Technology peers as part of the product trio to balance desirability, feasibility, and viability when making product decisions.
  • Work closely with Design to define the customer journey and create an exceptional user experience.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align the digital experience with broader omnichannel strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with peers to secure resources and support for continuous innovation.
  • Develop written and other visual communication artifacts such as presentations, and effective communication of concepts to all levels of management
  • Communicate ongoing changes and business results with stakeholders and peers.
  • Communicate product vision, priorities, roadmap decisions, and business rationale to stakeholders, delivery teams, and business partners.
  • Act as the product lead and subject matter expert for assigned products, ensuring stakeholders have a clear understanding of product objectives, priorities, and member outcomes.
  • Lead product initiatives within the assigned product and contribute to cross-functional initiatives that support broader portfolio objectives.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or related area is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, business innovation, digital product delivery, or related disciplines.
  • Experience leading product discovery and roadmap development.
  • Experience managing product backlogs, epics, features, and prioritization within agile delivery environments.
  • Experience working closely with Business Analysts, Design, and Technology teams.
  • Strong understanding of product analytics, experimentation, and outcome-based product management.
  • Knowledge of financial products and services, member segmentation, digital and physical channels and non-traditional competition
  • Experience driving a focused product vision and owning the narrative with leadership, customers, and partners
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI design best practices
  • High analytical acumen and solid business sense for ROI-based prioritization
  • Understanding of agile or similar methodology
  • Strong understanding of digital concepts
  • Equivalent combination of the above may be appropriate
