Security Architect – Government & Defence – Remote
Job description
Salary: £80,000 - 90,000 per year
Requirements
- Experience as a Security Architect, or in security architecture, cyber security or systems engineering
- Experience designing security controls in complex technical environments and translating cyber risk into technical requirements
- Experience producing security architecture and design documentation and assessing architectures for security weaknesses and control gaps
- Experience working across architecture, engineering and cyber teams and engaging senior technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong understanding of Secure-by-Design, Zero Trust, IAM, network security, encryption, key management and secure information exchange
- Knowledge of NCSC guidance, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, MoD 05-138 or NIST is advantageous
- CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF, CCSP or ISO 27001 qualifications or certifications are desirable; equivalent professional experience will be considered
- Current SC clearance is required. Candidates without current SC clearance may be considered if eligible and willing to undergo UK security vetting
Responsibilities
- Develop and assure secure-by-design architectures
- Translate cyber risk into technical requirements and security controls

We are recruiting a permanent Security Architect for complex, high-assurance projects supporting government, defence and critical national infrastructure. The role involves work across secure information exchange, cloud and platform security, networks, applications, data, identity and access management, cryptography, monitoring and high-assurance environments, in collaboration with architects, engineers, cyber specialists, product teams and customer security stakeholders.
