Job description

The FP&A Senior Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Commercial Finance function, with a key focus on financial planning and analysis. It will provide business partnering support to cost functions Legal, Risk and Compliance (LRC), Regional Ops and Procurement. This is an execution-focused six-month interim position requiring a candidate who can quickly become effective, work independently, and deliver high-quality outputs with minimal supervision. The role will report directly to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Performance Reporting & Business Performance Management

  • Support the monthly performance reporting cycle; ownership of board reporting, delivering timely, accurate, and insight-driven analysis of financial and operational performance.
  • Produce high quality variance commentary, senior level financial analysis and bridges delivering clear and concise outputs for senior leadership audience.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year, identifying key drivers, risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the wider finance team to streamline and automate reporting processes, leveraging best practices and technology.

Financial Analysis & Insight

  • Ownership of the budgeting and forecasting planning processes for respective cost functions and supporting overall consolidation of Fastmarkets planning cycle.
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial analysis, scenario modelling, and recommendations to support strategic initiatives and growth opportunities.
  • Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.

Finance Partnering Support

  • Partner with leaders across LRC, Regional Operations and Procurement, providing commercial insight and constructive challenge to drive business performance.
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams to understand business drivers on a monthly basis and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.

Automation & Process Improvement

  • Data hygiene & controls: define and run quality checks between reporting systems (NetSuite and Anaplan), alerting for material variances before monthly close.
  • Change & decommission: identify manual reports suitable for decommission; maintain a backlog of automation candidates with estimated time saved and expected impact.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior finance leadership in the UK and Sofia alongside cross‑finance and functional teams.
  • Support audit and compliance requirements, maintaining and improving internal controls.

KEY INTERFACES

Although the reporting line is directly to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, there will be regular involvement with other members of Commercial finance (UK and Sofia) and local Financial Control teams (UK and Sofia). Gaining business insight from the relevant business functions to assist in optimising reporting formats and outputs will also be important as guided by the direct management

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.

  • Experience working in FP&A, commercial finance, or an analyst / business partnering role.
  • Recent hands-on forecasting and Board / executive reporting experience.
  • Part‑qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a collaborative, proactive approach.
  • Experience with finance transformation, automation, or process improvement projects is highly desirable.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Anaplan) is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite (saved searches, custom reports) and Salesforce data structures; familiarity with Snowflake is a plus.
