Location: Canary Wharf, London

Contract Type: 12-Month Rolling Contract

Engagement: PAYE (Inside IR35)

Rate: Circa £60 per hour PAYE (dependent on skills and experience)

Start Date: ASAP

Reporting To: Head of HSE

HSE Leadership Opportunity Supporting Major UK Renewable Energy Projects

We are working with a leading renewable energy organisation seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support the safe delivery of major UK onshore renewable energy projects.This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned HSE professional to join a high-profile programme of work, providing contractor assurance, mobilisation readiness oversight, and ongoing HSE performance management across EPC, ICP and Owner's Engineer organisations. Working directly with project leadership and contractor management teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and CDM compliance are embedded throughout project execution.

The Role

The HSE Advisor will act as a key interface between project teams, contractors and assurance functions, ensuring robust HSE management systems, competent resources, safe systems of work and effective leadership arrangements are established before mobilisation and maintained throughout construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead contractor HSE onboarding and mobilisation readiness activities.

Review and assess HSE Management Plans, Construction Phase Plans, risk assessment frameworks and emergency response arrangements.

Verify contractor competence, organisational readiness and leadership capability prior to mobilisation.

Conduct HSE audits, assurance reviews and site visits.

Support implementation of contractor HSE management systems during mobilisation and construction.

Monitor leading and lagging HSE performance indicators and contractor compliance.

Participate in contractor performance reviews and governance meetings.

Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Support Site HSE Supervisors in resolving contractor compliance, capability and system gaps.

Act as a focal point for contractor assurance and CDM compliance throughout project delivery.

Candidate Profile

We are keen to speak with HSE professionals who can demonstrate:Extensive HSE experience within renewable energy, construction, utilities, infrastructure or wider energy sectors.

Proven experience working with EPC contractors and complex contractor supply chains.

Strong background in contractor assurance, mobilisation readiness and pre-construction HSE activities.

Detailed knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.

Experience reviewing Construction Phase Plans, risk assessments and HSE management systems.

The ability to influence senior stakeholders, challenge constructively and drive improvements in contractor performance.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across multiple organisational interfaces.
