IRP Systems is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead electric powertrain development projects from project initiation through full product maturity. The role will involve matrix management of multidisciplinary development teams across Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Embedded Software, Testing, Quality, Manufacturing and Supply Chain. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered within agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk parameters while driving strong cross-functional collaboration and execution.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
· Lead electric powertrain development projects from project initiation through product maturity and production readiness.
· Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, deliverables, timelines, resource requirements and project governance.
· Define project scope, objectives, deliverables and success criteria in alignment with business and customer requirements.
· Plan, manage and monitor product development activities throughout the complete development lifecycle.
· Track project progress against scope, schedule, budget, quality and technical objectives and drive corrective actions where required.
· Ensure timely achievement of key development milestones and project deliverables.
2. Cross-Functional & Matrix Management
· Lead multidisciplinary development teams across Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Embedded Software, Testing, Quality, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
· Drive alignment and accountability through matrix management across functions without direct reporting authority.
· Coordinate activities, dependencies, priorities and resource requirements across multiple teams.
· Provide direction, encouragement and motivation to project team members to achieve project objectives.
· Build a collaborative, accountable and results-oriented project environment.
3. Electric Powertrain / Product Development
· Coordinate development activities across concept, requirements, system architecture, design, prototyping, testing, validation, verification and product maturity.
· Ensure effective integration and coordination between mechanical, electrical/electronic and embedded software development activities.
· Monitor technical dependencies, design changes, open issues and engineering deliverables.
· Work closely with R&D teams to identify problems, develop solutions and drive timely technical issue resolution.
· Support transition from development to production readiness and full product maturity.
4. Stakeholder, R&D & Supply Chain Management
· Communicate proactively with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain and other internal stakeholders.
· Coordinate internal resources and third-party suppliers/vendors for flawless execution of projects.
· Establish clear communication and escalation mechanisms for project-critical issues.
· Provide regular project status updates, highlighting progress, risks, blockers, decisions and required management actions.
· Build effective working relationships with suppliers and external development partners.
5. Risk, Quality & Issue Management
· Identify, assess, monitor and mitigate project risks throughout the product development lifecycle.
· Maintain project risk registers and ensure mitigation actions are owned and completed.
· Identify bottlenecks, potential delays and resource constraints and develop practical solutions.
· Drive structured problem-solving and closure of critical project issues.
· Ensure project activities follow applicable automotive development and quality processes.
6. Continuous Improvement
· Identify opportunities to improve project execution, development efficiency and cross-functional collaboration.
· Drive initiatives to reduce development cycle time, improve quality and optimize resource utilization.
· Implement lessons learned and improve project management processes and governance.
· Promote ownership, accountability, innovation and continuous improvement within the project team.

Skills and
Qualifications
· 10+ years of project management experience in the automotive industry.
· Demonstrated experience managing projects across scope, schedule, budget/cost, quality and risk management.
· Hands-on experience managing multidisciplinary products involving Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics and Embedded Software.
· Experience leading cross-functional and matrix-managed development teams.
· Experience in EV, electric powertrain, automotive electronics or power electronics product development is strongly preferred.
