Frazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles, is currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team. The Engineering Manager at Frazer reports to the VP of Operations, and is responsible for Overseeing, managing, and directing all activities and personnel of the Frazer Engineering team. The Engineering team is responsible for planning and designing methods or processes that improve or enhance our existing products and production programs. The Engineering Manager will also manage project schedules, human and monetary resource allocations, and the scope of work for new products, product features, and manufacturing process requirements. Must be capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations that may require coordination with other departments.

Researches and develops new products and systems related to technologies identified by the Frazer Leadership team as strategic priorities. Develops and tests these systems and coordinates handover to the Production team when successful.

What Does a Week in the Life of the Engineering Manager Look Like?

  • Encourage and enforce a Safety First mindset with good housekeeping at all times
    • Start each meeting with a Safety Moment
    • Lead by example in supporting safety initiatives and training needs
  • Ensure production job orders are released to manufacturing on time with an accurate bill of material and work instructions.
  • Measure and monitor BOM and work instruction errors released to the production floor with the objective of improving the accuracy and timeliness of job orders.
  • Manage a team to design and analyze new systems and technologies that improve products or manufacturing processes.
  • Delegate tasks to drafters, technicians, and engineers while measuring and monitoring their productivity.
  • Prioritize work requests and effectively allocate resources.
  • Create test plans to verify new design projects and/or processes.
  • Research, evaluate, and propose budgets for various projects.
  • Write project specifications by which success or failure of developed technologies may be evaluated.
  • Work with Sales personnel and/or directly with customers as needed to determine exact needs for product feature requests and related design prints.
  • Provide technical support for Sales, Purchasing, Production, and Service teams.
  • Oversee the design of new fabricated items needed for projects.
  • Conduct tests for product verification.
  • Attend trade shows and conferences.
  • Actively manage staff development, including timesheets, time off requests, progressive discipline, and performance reviews.
  • Manage departmental metrics set by the Leadership Team.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the manager.

Required Education and Experience:

  • B.S. Engineering or at least 7-10 years experience in a comparable role
  • 7-10 years supervisory experience
  • Familiarity with ERP systems

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • M.S. Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Syteline ERP System
  • Knowledge and experience in Configure to Order, and Engineer to Order manufacturing environments.

Oh, and $alary

Of course, we didn't forget salary… Frazer offers competitive pay and this role will start with a salary between $120,000-$150,000 annually depending on education, certifications, and experience.

Work Schedule

The Engineering Manager will work Monday through Thursday 7:00 AM-4:30 PM, Friday 7:00 AM-11:00 AM.

Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.
