Reporting Structure:

Employees reporting to this position are the Personal Care Assistants.

This position will report to the Director of Home Care.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide direction, guidance and oversight to the Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) for the proper execution of their duties and responsibilities
  • Work alongside the PCAs in the field when required to maintain compliance with EQC internal policy, best practices and client care plans
  • Act as a liaison to newly on-boarded caregivers; function as a skill trainer, tasked with teaching technical skills to PCAs during new hire orientation.
  • Educate, motivate, guide and coach PCAs to adhere to EQC standards and policies, with an emphasis on a deep understanding of the client's care plan.
  • Review and approve/disapprove leave requests, coverage for lunches and breaks, and unexpected late arrivals and early departures.
  • Monitor PCA performance goals, metrics and standards and ensure care is consistent with the EQC quality measures and patient care measures.
  • Work with the Director of Home Care to maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies, grants, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Home Care to create, implement, evaluate, and update caregiving policies and procedures, and workflows.
  • Provide constructive feedback, coaching and implementation of performance management in accordance with EQC policies and procedures.
  • Participate in on-call rotation; ensuring that clients have appropriate coverage and that all open shifts are covered
  • Participate in and support team meetings, activities, and/or problem solving.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and as schedule allows.

Skills and Qualifications

  • At least 2 years supervisory experience in a healthcare setting with strong knowledge in caregiving practices and procedures
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and assessment skills
  • Excellent leadership qualities
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team, and lead teams
  • Good listener and excellent people skills
  • Proactive problem solver, detail oriented
  • Must have basic knowledge of computer programs
  • Able to work independently
  • A valid driver's license and excellent driving record
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs
