Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, motivated, and organized Account/Finance Intern to join our virtual team. This internship is designed for students or recent graduates eager to build a solid foundation in finance, accounting, and nonprofit financial operations. You’ll gain real-world experience while supporting our mission of empowering individuals through affordable education and social services.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing day-to-day financial transactions, including invoicing, budgeting, and expense tracking
- Help prepare financial reports and assist with audits and financial compliance
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records using Google Workspace and accounting tools
- Support the Finance Team in reconciling accounts and analyzing budget trends
- Collaborate with the administrative team on grant applications, donor management, and financial documentation
- Ensure confidentiality, professionalism, and accuracy in all finance-related communications
- Contribute to process improvements and efficient financial systems
- Participate in virtual meetings and training sessions as required
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accounting, finance, economics, or business-related program, or recent graduate (within the past year)
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial management practices
- Strong analytical, numerical, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and cloud-based accounting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Wave, or similar)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a virtual setting
- Clear communication and professional demeanor
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to a purpose-driven nonprofit team
