JOB TITLE: Accounts Payable Assistant [Part Time]
SCHEDULE: M/W 8:30am-4:30pm F- 8:30 - 2:30

LOCATION: Manhattan – East Harlem
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for performing general accounts payable and recordkeeping duties to ensure timely, accurate payments to vendors. Provides responsive, professional customer service to both vendors and employees while supporting overall accounting operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Processes accounts payable transactions, including coding invoices, managing purchase orders, and verifying supporting documentation
- Maintains accurate vendor records, including entering new vendors into the accounting system and ensuring W-9 and insurance documents are collected
- Prioritizes disbursements in accordance with internal policies, payment terms, and contractual obligations
- Accurately records transactions and assists with generating regular reports
- Identifies and communicates vendor pricing or payment issues, and assists in resolving disputed invoices or terms
- Files and organizes accounting records in a timely and systematic manner
- Builds and maintains positive working relationships with vendors, employees, and internal departments to support accounting functions
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in accounts payable or general accounting preferred
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Abila MIP, or similar)
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 19 per week
