Accounts Payable & Inventory Control Specialist

Position Summary

Turf Merchants, Inc. is a leading wholesale grass seed distributor based in Tangent, Oregon. For over 30 years, we’ve specialized in producing and distributing premium cool- and warm-season turfgrass varieties to professional distributors, landscapers, and sod growers across North America and around the globe.

We’re looking for an Accounts Payable & Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for processing vendor invoices and payments, keeping accurate inventory records, and working closely with other departments to keep operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in accounts payable and inventory control, along with strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

· - Enter and process vendor invoices for seed, freight, and supplies

· - Match purchase orders with invoices and receiving paperwork

· - Work with team members and vendors to correct any errors

· - Ensure timely payments according to vendor terms

· - Reconcile vendor statements and assist with month-end AP close

Inventory Control

· - Enter and update inventory information in our system

· - Track inventory receipts, transfers, and shipments between locations

· - Assist with inventory counts and help research differences

· - Help track seed blending and bagging activities and reconcile usage

Skills & Qualifications

· - 2+ years of experience in accounts payable and/or inventory control

· - Strong organizational and communication skills

· - Proficiency with accounting/inventory software and Excel (experience with Pilot Seed Management a plus)

· - Ability to work well with multiple departments and vendors

Bonus if you have:

· - Experience in agriculture, seed, or other bulk commodity industries

· - Knowledge of freight billing or seed blending processes

· - Comfort working in a seasonal business environment with shifting priorities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
