HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Acquisition Specialist/Project Manager to provide critical acquisition and project management support for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Air Delivered Capabilities Directorate in San Antonio, TX (Lackland AFB). This position supports Weapon Storage and Security System (WS3).
Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!
- Possess and apply expert knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and analytical methods to gather, analyze, and evaluate information required to support our Government Project Officers
- Apply interaction, communication, coordination, organizational, and planning expertise to technical and acquisition efforts across a broad spectrum of functional disciplines
- Provide day-to-day on-site Project Management support services including writing and reviewing program documents, tracking contracting actions, creating and reviewing travel authorizations and vouchers
- Conclude and devise solutions to problems relating to improvement of acquisition effectiveness and compliance, develop and draft acquisition documentation, and ensure quality control
- Provide programmatic, acquisition, sustainment, logistics, engineering, and scientific program support services to government personnel
- Oversee cost, schedule, and performance of contract deliverables with demonstrated expertise in personnel resource allocation, supervision, and contract management
- Assist Government Project Officers and Acquisition Specialists in all activities related to capability acquisition while ensuring the Government retains inherently governmental decision-making authority
- Support coordination, execution, status, and management in documentation and specification development, product development, test, analyses, issue identification and resolution
- Provide up-to-date status information and periodic reports on program aspects
- Support key NDW portfolio programs including WS3, VMP, and DMS sustainment activities
- Assist in activities related to nuclear certification processes per AFI 63-125
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders including military, civilian, and other contractor personnel supporting the Air Force and NNSA
Requirements: I have already done that or have it!
- 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical engineering field, business, or management AND a minimum of 5 years of experience managing projects of similar size, scope, and complexity
- Must possess and maintain TOP SECRET security clearance
- Ability to work on-site at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX
- Expert knowledge of DoD 5000.02 acquisition systems and processes
- Strong analytical methods and techniques for information gathering, analysis, and evaluation
- Demonstrated expertise in personnel resource allocation, supervision, and contract management
- Experience with DoD acquisition documentation and compliance requirements
- Project management expertise with proven ability to manage complex, multi-faceted programs
- Strong communication and coordination skills across diverse functional disciplines
- Problem-solving capabilities with focus on acquisition effectiveness and compliance
- Quality control and assurance experience
- Ability to work in integrated team environment with military, civilian, and contractor personnel
- Must be able to handle and safeguard sensitive and classified information in accordance with regulations
- Willingness to support government facility access requirements and security procedures
- Flexibility to adapt to changing program requirements and priorities
Preferred Requirements
- Advanced Experience: 8+ years of experience managing defense acquisition programs of similar complexity
- Domain Expertise: 3+ years of experience supporting Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center or similar nuclear weapons programs
- Specialized Knowledge: Experience with nuclear certification processes (AFI 63-125) and nuclear weapon system acquisition
- System Familiarity: Knowledge of Weapon Storage and Security Systems (WS3), Vault Modernization Programs, or Disablement Management Systems
- Advanced Degree: Master's degree in engineering, business, or management
- Immediate Availability: Available to start within 2 weeks of accepting position
