The administrative intern position offers the opportunity to support programs that empower adults with disabilities by contributing to the systems that drive high-quality care. This internship provides hands-on experience in administrative support, operations, and internal systems across multiple services, including residential programs, behavioral health, supported employment, and day programming.
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, curious, and eager to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven business setting. They will enjoy collaborating with internal teams and building skills in organization, communication, and compliance support.

What You Will Learn:
- File organization and document management for client services
- How to prepare intake packets and process confidential documentation
- Internal processes related to Medicaid waiver services and IDD program compliance
- Techniques for effective internal communication and team coordination
- Data entry, digital filing, and spreadsheet management (Google Workspace)
- Event and training preparations (e.g., assembling materials, coordinating logistics)
- Research skills related to community resources, policies, or public health
- Quality assurance processes and how to support program evaluation
- Exposure to nonprofit workflows across behavioral health and disability services
Job Requirements
- Assist with administrative tasks across Sample Supports programs, including Behavioral Services, Residential, Supported Employment, and Day Program
- Organize and maintain both paper and electronic client records
- Support with scheduling, supply tracking, and email communication
- Attend relevant team and program meetings as requested by supervisor
- Respond to supervisor emails and tasks in a timely manner
- Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and agency documentation policies
- Provide accurate records of time and activities for internship reporting
- Work in full compliance with all Sample Supports policies, procedures, and protocols
- Perform other related administrative tasks as assigned
- This position is considered a mandatory reporter for suspected maltreatment, abuse, neglect, or exploitation of at-risk individuals (M/A/N/E)
- Reliable transportation to and from work is required (if in-person tasks assigned)
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in Public Health, Psychology, Human Services, Business, or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage time independently
- Comfortable using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar)
- Interest in working in disability services or behavioral health
- Professional and dependable, with a willingness to learn and contribute
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Flexible and adaptable in a multi-program, team-based environment
Working Conditions
- Flexible, part-time schedule (10-20 hours/week)

- Minimal supervision with regular check-ins
- Must be able to meet deadlines, manage time efficiently, and work independently
