Upper Albany Main Street (UAMS) is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Adult Education Program Coordinator to lead and manage adult education initiatives that empower community members through digital literacy, financial education, and technical training. This part-time role is ideal for an individual passionate about lifelong learning, community development, and program implementation.
As the Program Coordinator, you will design, coordinate, and evaluate high-impact programming while collaborating with internal teams, facilitators, and adult learners. Your effort will help bridge the skill gaps and provide essential training and workshops to underserved populations in Hartford and surrounding towns,
The position is 100% grant-funded and is contingent upon the annual renewal of external funding.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Curriculum Implementation
- Coordinate and oversee adult education programs including digital literacy, financial literacy, and technical training workshops.
- Ensure all courses meet high-quality standards and align with UAMS’s mission and community development goals.
- Collaborate with facilitators to support course delivery and ensure measurable outcomes.
Participant Engagement & Support
- Recruit, enroll, and support adult learners through consistent engagement and individualized program placement.
- Maintain effective communication with participants regarding their progress, challenges, and goals.
- Design new programs based on community needs and feedback.
Data Management & Program Evaluation
- Maintain accurate records for all programming, including attendance, assessments, and participant eligibility.
- Conduct regular evaluations and outcomes reporting to measure program effectiveness and ensure grant compliance.
- Implement tools and frameworks to assess program impact and address gaps.
Community Outreach & Team Collaboration
- Lead outreach efforts to raise awareness of available training programs and recruit eligible participants.
- Work closely with UAMS staff and stakeholders to maintain consistent communication on program updates, challenges, and results.
- Promote a culture of lifelong learning within the community by modeling continuous growth and development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Experience working with diverse populations and underserved communities.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general digital tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
