Title:
Aircraft Systems IntegratorKBR is seeking a highly motivated self-starter, adaptable to a fast-paced exciting environment as Aircraft Systems Integrator (ASI) supporting the Advanced Sensors Technologies (AST) Program Office (PO) at NAS Patuxent River, MD. The candidate will perform a variety of engineering work in the development of cutting-edge DoD operable system network capabilities while meeting customer requirements within the imposed constraints. The position supports advanced technical projects with strategic planning, accelerated schedules, equipment integration onto aircraft and testing requirements from multi-disciplined cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Support aircraft integrated optical systems and associated network integration as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Design and/or research of subsystem interfaces to ensure that subsystems are integrated properly and work together to form a viable complete system on P-8A aircraft.
- Functional analysis of EO/IR systems and integrated networks to ensure it meets customer performance criteria
- Development and/or evaluation of technical proposals supporting assigned AST projects
- Perform post modification checkouts and testing requirements of integrated subsystems
- Provide technical assistance in mechanical and integrated electrical sub-systems involving complex designs.
- Analyze and provide technical direction for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, designing, and modifying equipment as appropriate.
- Attend and contribute to scheduled AST meetings of assigned projects
- Development and/or evaluation of Engineering Change Proposals (ECP)
- Recommend changes as appropriate to customer management to enhance program efficiencies, reduce costs, and meet design requirements
- Report status updates to government leadership and Integration Test Teams
- Design system interconnect diagrams when applicable
- Advise on aspects of product logistics for AST PO systems.
- Provide specialized hands-on training to military and civilian personnel when applicable.
- Provide in-flight test and integration support onboard P-8A aircraft as a Project Specialist
- Travel up to 25%

Basic Qualifications:
Required Education: A bachelor’s degree in technical discipline OR High School Diploma with equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of experience in systems integration
Security Clearance Requirement: Top Secret/SSBI security clearance. Must have completed a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) within the past six (6) years or currently enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation (CE) Program.
Required Experience, Certifications & Skills:
- Experience editing/creating drawings in Viso or AutoCad
- Systems integration, installation, and checkout experience on Navy aircraft
- Experienced in reading system schematics and troubleshoot complex technical aircraft subsystems
- Knowledgeable in aircraft wire/cable repair and manufacture aircraft wiring IAW NAVAIR standards.
- Instrumentation monitoring and measurement integration experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with integrated test teams comprising military, civilian, and contractor personnel
- Ability to pass physical and water survival qualification requirements to fly as a Project Specialist
Desired Qualifications:
- Wescam EO/IR experience
- Systems integration, installation and checkout experience on P-8A aircraft
- Fiber Optic cleaning/inspection/fabrication certification
- P-8A Turret Deployment Unit and MX-series installation experience
- Knowledge of Navy Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP)
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
Compensation: $125,000- $145,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
