The County of San Diego's Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk's (ARCC) Office has openings for ASSESSMENT CLERK
In the Assessor Division, Assessment Clerks maintain various types of property and ownership change files, both physical and electronic; identify assessor parcel numbers from legal descriptions, owner names or property addresses; process payment transactions and balances the cash register; and verify or audit claims for correct and complete information.
In the Recorder/County Clerk Division, Assessment Clerks work in a fast paced and customer focused environment. Assessment Clerks verify applications for correct and complete information; issue vital records, marriage licenses, and perform civil ceremonies; administer notary oaths; file fictitious business names; process payment transactions and reconcile cash drawer.

ARCC has offices in Chula Vista, Downtown San Diego, Kearny Mesa, San Marcos and Santee
. This recruitment will be used to fill positions located at all ARCC locations. HIRING PROCESS AND TIMELINE
  • Job Offer and Background Process begins after interviews. Note: Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening.
  • Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.
  • Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years of clerical office experience, which must have included the responsibility for processing payment transactions or checking legal documents for completeness.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment. Additional types of background investigations may be conducted based on the job-related activities of the position. Current County employees may be excluded from this process.

EVALUATION


Qualified applicants will be placed on a nine (9) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in their employment application and supplemental application questionnaire. Please ensure all information is complete and accurate, as the responses you provide on the supplemental application questionnaire will be reviewed using an automated evaluation system. If you are successful in the initial screening process, your application will be reviewed individually to confirm that the information you provided is accurate and qualifying.
