We’re looking for an Assistant Manager who can step confidently into a leadership role, inspire our team, and help our shop thrive.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Floor Management
- Lead the floor when the owner/manager is away — setting the tone for customer service and staff engagement.
- Open or close the shop, ensuring all checklists are complete.
- Keep an eye on customer interactions, coaching staff in real-time to deepen engagement and suggest products.
Staff Development & Training
- Help onboard new hires, sharing our store culture, procedures, and product knowledge.
- Lead short daily huddles to set sales goals and share focus products.
- Encourage and guide staff toward meeting sales and service expectations.
Customer Experience
- Ensure every customer feels genuinely welcomed and cared for.
- Handle customer concerns with professionalism and warmth.
- Keep the store environment clean, stocked, and visually appealing.
Receiving & Merchandising
- Receive incoming product shipments, check for accuracy, and communicate with the team about new arrivals.
- Ensure new product is priced, merchandised, and displayed in line with our seasonal themes.
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of retail or customer service experience; previously leadership role is REQUIRED.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in working with a variety of people.
- Ability to take initiative, solve problems, and keep the floor running smoothly.
- Comfortable coaching others and holding the team accountable to goals.
- Enthusiasm for small business values and supporting local makers.
The Details
- Schedule: 25–35 hrs/week, including some evenings and weekends.
- Pay: $17–$19/hr depending on experience.
