Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Assistant Property Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the property management team by ensuring the efficient operation of our residential or commercial properties. This position requires a strong understanding of property management practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle various administrative tasks effectively.
Duties
- Assist in managing day-to-day operations of a 376-unit multifamily property, ensuring compliance with company policies and Fair Housing regulations.
- Coordinate property maintenance requests and oversee maintenance staff to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, files, and tenant communications.
- Support leasing activities, including conducting property tours, processing applications, and preparing lease agreements.
- Handle tenant inquiries and resolve conflicts professionally and effectively.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitoring expenses related to property management.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors for property improvements and maintenance services.
- Maintain accurate resident records and reports.
- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure curb appeal and safety standards.
- Support marketing efforts and resident retention initiatives..
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in property management or leasing (multifamily experience preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree a plus.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of sales techniques and customer service principles.
- Familiarity with legal administrative tasks related to real estate management.
- Understanding of conflict management strategies to address tenant concerns effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with property management software (RealPage) is a plus and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Availability for occasional weekend or evening work as needed.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
