SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services Procurement, this role manages the technology and telecom procurement categories both strategically and tactically. The ideal candidate should excel at providing excellent service to internal clients while ensuring the company gets the best value for purchased items and services. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the strategic sourcing and procurement of technology-related goods and services, while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and budget constraints. You will be responsible for negotiating contracts with suppliers, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. You will also be a people leader responsible for the performance and professional development of four (4) procurement category managers. Key responsibilities include building strategic relationships with business leaders, acting as a positive influencer and challenger, and applying procurement best practices to balance financial benefits with sustainable supplier relationships. Duties involve supporting the execution of Procurement's multi-year plan, overseeing the procurement lifecycle for technology and telecom, and assessing supplier performance. The candidate will also be responsible for developing Continuous Improvement strategies for the technology and telecom categories, enhancing supplier-Tyson relationships to foster innovation and competitiveness, and measuring and reporting category savings quarterly, including savings analysis against goals. Monitoring the technology and telecom markets for trends, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, and assisting the business units in developing their annual operating plans are also essential duties. Key competencies required for this role include expertise in procurement processes, tools, and systems; proven ability in category planning, development, and execution; and effective negotiation skills in both competitive and non-competitive supplier scenarios.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is desirable.
Experience: 12+ years’ experience in procurement and/or technology. Experience working with Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) companies or in the food industry-related sector is a plus. Experience working with business partners to develop long-term technology business strategies and experience leading the execution of complex sourcing events is highly desirable. Technology or Vendor Management Office (VMO) background required.
Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and PowerBi. Experience with eProcurement Source-to-Pay tools is desirable.
Communication Skills: Must demonstrate strong verbal and written skills. Must be able to influence team and cross-functional leaders. Must be able to engage/inform senior-level management in procurement regularly.
Special Skills: Strong negotiation and analytical skills required. Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) and/or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification is highly desirable.
