Hendrick Automotive Group is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman/Dispatcher who is well-versed on vehicle repair diagnostics, inspections, and automotive dealership services (preferably for Volkswagen, Audi or similar import manufacturers). An ideal candidate should have prior knowledge in the automotive retail industry and skills that will successfully lead a group of technicians and manage the efficient flow of work through our busy shop.

Summary: Responsible for directing customers to service advisors and to assign service work to automotive technicians.
Location: Hendrick Volkswagen (Concord).
Pay Range: Up to $100,000 per year and above (based on job performance).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Schedules service work
- Obtains basic information from customers
- Directs customers to service advisors
- Assigns service order numbers to each vehicle
- Assigns service work to technicians
- Ensures service is performed in a timely manner
- Maintains CSI at or above Company standards
- Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area
- Participates in required training
- Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system
- Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.
- Demonstrates the Company’s Core Values
- Complies with Company policies and procedures
- Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
- Automotive Technology, Vocational/Trade Certificate, High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as an Automotive Technician (senior level) or similar leadership role in an automotive repair environment.
- Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment.
- Advanced knowledge in automotive diagnostics and repair techniques.
- ASE certifications is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals effectively.
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Able to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Valid Driver’s License
o Automobile Salesperson License
Computer Skills:
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products. Ability and knowledge of the Dealership Management System and other web based applications utilized for operations.
Communication Skills:
Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
Attendance Expectations:
The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Environment Demands:
Duties are generally performed in the service area. Work includes movement around the service department and frequent interaction with customers, service advisors, service manager and service technicians May be exposed to load noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service repair conditions.
Verbal and Writing Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations.
