Job Description: We are seeking dedicated and efficient Back of the House Staff to join our team. The ideal candidate will support kitchen operations, ensure a clean and organized workspace, and help maintain the high standards of our gluten and dairy-free café and bakery.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and measuring ingredients.
- Support cooking operations by following recipes and ensuring consistency and quality in all dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring they are sanitized and ready for use.
- Monitor inventory levels and report when supplies are running low.
- Receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper storage and labeling of ingredients.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and café policies.
- Assist with setup and cleanup of the kitchen area before and after service.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the head chef or kitchen manager.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of gluten and dairy-free cooking techniques is a plus.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Passion for cooking and a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry heavy bags or boxes of ingredients (up to 50 lbs).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes hot kitchen environment.
