Job Description: Experienced Croissant Baker

Paola's Delights, a beloved Italian-American bakery, is seeking a talented and experienced baker to join our team. We're a small, passionate group dedicated to creating high-quality, delicious baked goods. This role is focused on the precise and delicate craft of creating our signature croissants and danish.

Responsibilities

• Lamination: Take pre-made dough and butter block and use a sheeter to meticulously laminate the dough, creating the numerous layers that define a perfect croissant.
• Shaping: Skillfully cut and shape the laminated dough into various forms, including traditional croissants, pain au chocolat, and other variations.
• Proofing: Manage the proofing process, ensuring the croissants rise to the correct size and texture for optimal baking. This requires careful attention to temperature and humidity.
• Baking: Bake the croissants to a golden-brown finish, with a crispy exterior and a soft, airy interior. This includes monitoring the oven and adjusting as needed to achieve perfect results.
• Quality Control: Inspect and ensure each croissant meets our high standards for appearance, texture, and taste.
• Manage ingredient inventory for the croissant station and communicate needs to the management team.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards.
• Work efficiently and independently while collaborating with the rest of the team.
• The ability to prepare and bake a variety of other Italian-American pastries is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a professional baker is a must.
• Required experience in the lamination, shaping, and baking of croissants and danish.
• Flexibility to work night shifts is required.
• A passion for baking and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, collaborative attitude.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
