Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in our bakery operations, ensuring that our customers receive high-quality products and exceptional service. This position requires a passion for food preparation, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and baking processes to create a variety of baked goods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, adhering to sanitation and food safety standards.
- Operate Aloha POS and Micros POS systems for processing customer transactions accurately.
- Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and offering product recommendations.
- Upsell bakery items to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
- Handle cash transactions and ensure accurate cash handling practices.
- Support the team in stocking shelves, bussing tables, and maintaining inventory levels.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely production of baked goods while managing time effectively.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or a quick service & fast food restaurant is preferred.
- Culinary experience or kitchen experience is a plus, particularly in the bakery sector.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and safety regulations is essential.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and retail math applications are required.
