We have an exciting Boar Stud and Isolation Production Manager opportunity. The Boar Stud and Isolation Production Manager provides leadership and direction to AI center personnel and maintain the business and working relationships between sow farms and AI center. Responsible for managing Seaboard's investment in high-quality boars, facilities, and equipment critical for processing and distributing approximately 1.4 million quality doses of semen per year.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as liaison between AI Center and sow farm.
- Lead staff of 40 people, including AI technician(s).
- Oversee processing of 1.9 million doses of semen/year. This would include monitoring lab equipment, temperature control of the lab, hygiene control of the lab, and semen quality control.
- Oversee boar training at 3 isolation facilities
- Manage the semen ordering process, i.e., be responsible for assisting sow farms in understanding the ordering process and the timeliness of orders.
- Understand cost analysis/dose of semen and help maintain the budget for the AI center.
- Manage 1400 boars (feeding/conditioning/health) to optimize semen output.
- Answer questions farm may have about AI and monitor AI and heat detection techniques.
- Serve as backup to any questions AI Service Technician may have pertaining to sow farms.
- Directly supervises Genetic A.I. Farm Managers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, directing work, and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Must have strong interpersonal skills to include the ability to work with people effectively and understand the importance of the production of the AI center to the production of the farms.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to make decisions on routine matters utilizing company policies and procedures and directions from upper management.
- Ability to apply detailed mathematical concepts and analytical skills required to perform necessary calculations for completion of AI center documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language, such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science (B.S.) preferred with working knowledge of AI in swine; or 3 years minimum working extensively with swine AI; or past management of a large-scale AI center.
- To successfully perform this job, an individual must have strong interpersonal skills. Needs extensive knowledge of the Prism database system, genetic breeding programs, and dissemination.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
