Overview
Wonderland Camp is looking for a dependable, knowledgeable facility maintenance person for our large camp for people with disabilties. Our facility has 17 buildings, two tritoon boats & lifts, two boat docks and a fishing dock, multiple acreas of wooded land, challenge element structures, multiple golf carts, a tram, two tractors, a wagon, and gators, lawn care equipement and various power tools. We have our own well and water structure as well as a septic system that is regulary maintained by a company. In this role you will need to work some weekends and holidays based on our camp schedule to ensure the camp is ready to welcome campers.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC system checks.
- Oversee and execute residential painting projects to maintain aesthetic standards.
- Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Supervise maintenance staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Fabricate components or repairs as necessary to ensure operational efficiency.
- Utilize tools such as an ohmmeter for electrical diagnostics.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with building occupants or clients.
Requirements
- Proven experience in building maintenance or a related field.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various systems.
- Inspect the property to identify necessary repairs or updates
· Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other bulding systems
· Assist with grounds maintenance tasks, including shoveling walkways and removing trash
· Assist with painting, patching, and hanging drywall as needed
· Maintain an inventory of spare parts based on our most likely needs
· Keep maintenance logs
· Coordinating with the operations manager and executive director to hire external contractors for specialized tasks
· Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining a safe working environment
· High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
· Facilities maintenance or carpentry experience (preferred)
· Specialized experience with plumbing, electrical, or HVAC systems (a plus)
· Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
· Physical stamina to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions
· Experience driving a tractor or ability to learn required
· Boating license (preferred)
· Valid driver's license
· Must pass a background check
· Living within 20 minutes of the camp (preferred)
