Position Summary:
The Trim Carpenter is responsible for the professional installation of custom closets, cabinetry, and millwork across a defined Market. This role demands expertise in finish carpentry and a commitment to quality craftsmanship, Success in this role requires excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused attitude while upholding the company's values and standards of excellence.
Essential Functions:
- Install custom closets, cabinetry, trim, millwork, and related finishes to meet project specifications ensuring cabinetry and closets are plumb, level, and installed securely.
- Perform tasks including trim work, sheetrock repair, light painting, and construct various elements of millwork systems according to design specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and specifications accurately.
- Measure and cut materials with precision and safety using hand and power tools.
- Adhere to work schedules with punctuality and reliability, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Collaborate with Market Managers, Scheduling Coordinators, and other team members to ensure project timelines are met.
- Complete all job tasks, time clock entries, and review plans and scope of work within the proprietary project management system (Cruxos).
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace, following all safety protocols and procedure s.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude in all interactions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on-site in partnership with the Market Manager and clients.
- Represent Penmarc with professionalism in all client and team interactions.
- Respect the client's home and maintain a professional work area and perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent experience.
- Ability to obtain Lead Renovator Certification within three months of hire.
- 5+ years of experience in carpentry, cabinetry, remodeling, and millwork.
- 5+ years of experience in construction.
- A phone or device with a sufficient data plan to access Cruxos.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Proof of required vehicle insurance.
- 10+ Years experience as a millworker or Trim Carpenter in the construction industry.
- OSHA-10 Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Current knowledge of general safety and construction practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and perform work efficiently with strong attention to detail and problem- solving skills.
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Ability to learn and apply new software.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining professional client interactions.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Technical proficiency in finish carpentry and millwork installation.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Proficiency in basic mathematics.
- The schedule for this position will vary based on business and client needs.
- The role involves manual labor that can be performed both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be willing and able to travel to jobsites within an estimated 50-mile radius of the assigned Market, occasional travel outside of the Market. 25%
- Must be able to transport tools and materials to various job sites.
- Work is performed independently and/or part of a team in various residential settings including new builds remodels, and renovations.
- Frequent exposure to varying temperature conditions, noise levels, dust, and jobsite hazards such as power tools, scaffolding, and construction debris.
- Requires adherence to safety standards and use of PPE.
