Companion / Caregiver Job Description
A full-time live-in companion caregiver is required to support various aspects of daily living for an elderly client.
Duties and responsibilities
- the individual will have various duties they must perform to be effective in their role. Some essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Interacting to help with social needs
- Assisting with activities such as eating and grooming
- Planning activities and ensuring client can keep up with hobbies and other enjoyable activities
- Performing routine chores such as dishes, cleaning, laundry, making the bed, and dusting
- Ensuring that the client maintain their medical routine and use the right medication
- Supporting the client with their emotional or physical issues
- Run errands such as shopping for groceries, handling bills, or iphone, ipad, email related tasks
- Drive and accompany to appointments
Essential Qualifications
- Empathy and a caring attitude
- Must be flexible and considerate when performing their duties.
- Good interpersonal skills to bond with the client
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Must be able to perform basic homecare tasks
- Ability to provide CPR when necessary
Additional Notes
- Client follows a strictly vegetarian diet
- Languages spoken include English and Hindi
- Remuneration includes all room and board expenses paid along with salary commensurate with experience
- Car available for appointments and household errands
- Schedule and time off to be negotiated at the time of hiring
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $4,000.00 - $5,000.00 per month
