Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced in-house Medical Biller to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with 5+ years of direct medical billing experience, particularly in outpatient settings. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in accounts receivable (AR) management, denial resolution, payer correspondence, and clearinghouse operations. Proficiency in Tebra (Kareo) and/or eClinicalWorks (eCW) is required. This is an on-site position, and the candidate must be comfortable managing all aspects of billing independently and proactively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle medical billing for outpatient infectious disease services
- Submit and track clean claims through Tebra (Kareo) and eCW clearinghouses
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on aging claims
- Conduct thorough denial management, appeals, and timely resubmissions
- Communicate with payers for claim status, resolutions, and policy clarifications
- Manage all written correspondence from insurance carriers and handle billing-related mail and faxes
- Post payments, process EOBs, and reconcile accounts
- Assist with payer enrollment, credentialing maintenance, and billing compliance
- Generate and present billing reports and metrics to clinic leadership
- Answer patient billing questions and contact patients directly if additional information or clarification is needed
Qualifications:
- Experience with Tebra (Kareo) and eClinicalWorks (eCW) required
- Outpatient specialist or internal medicine billing experience required
- Minimum 5 years of medical billing experience
- Certified Professional Biller / Certified Professional Coder or other equivalent certification
- Extensive knowledge of AR workflows and denial resolution strategies
- Credentialing experience preferred
Schedule & Compensation:
- Full-time or part-time (minimum 20 hours/week)
- Flexible weekday schedule (no evenings or weekends)
- On-site position at our Sun Lakes, AZ clinic
- Up to $32 / hour, based on qualifications and certification
