Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Medical Biller to join our medical office team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and submitting medical claims to insurance companies, ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement for patient care services.
Duties:
- Review medical records and patient charts to assign accurate ICD-10,CPT, and HCPCS codes, in accordance with established coding guidelines.
- Utilize medical billing software to submit claims to various insurance providers, and track the status of submitted claims.
- Identify and correct errors or discrepancies in medical billing, including incomplete or inaccurate information.
- Perform medical collection activities, such as contacting patients or insurance companies, to resolve billing disputes and recover outstanding payments.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of patient billing and insurance claims, ensuring compliance with relevant medical office and healthcare regulations.
- Familiarize yourself with medical office systems and software, including electronic health records (EHR) and medical coding systems.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of medical terminology and medical coding principles, including ICD-10 codes
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing and coding issues, and ensure that all medical claims are submitted in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one (1) year experience in medical billing and coding, preferably with ICD-10
- Knowledge of medical office systems and software, including electronic health records (EHRs)
- Familiarity with medical terminology and medical coding principles.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
-CRC and/or CPC Certification from AAPC would be helpful
- Bilingual highly desired

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
