The Role
The Chief of Staff – Large Enterprise plays a pivotal role within the GTM organization. This Director-level position combines the responsibilities of being the Chief of Staff with driving and managing critical cross-functional initiatives. The role requires a strategic focus to ensure visibility across various domains including Sales, Customer Success, and key operational levers to enable informed decision-making, pinpoint key priorities, and track progress on major initiatives. These initiatives align with Large Enterprise segment objectives, as outlined by the North Star and Change Imperatives.
The Main Responsibilities
The Chief of Staff – Large Enterprise role shoulders a variety of essential responsibilities that contribute to the success of the organization:
- Critical Adviser: Serve as a key adviser to SVP Large Enterprise. Facilitate progression of primary objectives and provide solutions to challenges that arise while ensuring the SVP’s time and executive presence are directed toward the highest‑impact deals, renewals, customer escalations, and thought leadership opportunities.
- Management System Development: Design and refine systems to ensure consistent monitoring of business objectives, including vital leading indicators from both financial and operational perspectives like pipeline health, forecast discipline, retention, and customer satisfaction metrics
- Key Messaging and Communication: Develop impactful messages and create compelling presentations on behalf of SVP Large Enterprise. Represent and communicate leadership priorities across the organization and translate GTM performance into board and C‑suite facing narratives and content.
- Cross-Functional Initiatives: Manage and drive initiatives ensuring alignment with organizational goals while enforcing accountability across Sales, CS, Marketing, Product, Operations and Finance for agreed outcomes.
- Project Oversight: Provide oversight and establish linkages for projects and efforts spanning cross-functional domains from must‑win growth programs to customer retention initiatives; ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
- Dotted-Line Support to Teams: Provide dotted-line support to teams of program managers and project managers, ensuring effective coordination and alignment of initiatives.
- Performance & Change Leadership: Serve as the operational enforcer of new processes and behaviors across Sales and CS. Push transformation initiatives forward, partner with GTM leadership, and remove friction points in execution.
- Additional Duties: Handle other responsibilities as assigned, showcasing adaptability and commitment to organizational needs.
What We Look For in a Candidate
An ideal candidate for the Chief of Staff – Large Enterprise position possesses a combination of educational qualifications, professional experience, and consultative skills:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or a related field is required.
- Experience: At least 8+ years of relevant go-to market, sales excellence, and/or including 5+ years in commercial consulting roles. Direct experience in Sales (mandatory), Customer Success operations, forecasting, or GTM transformation required.
- Communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to inspire and lead and turn data into compelling narratives for executives, customers, and the board.
- Credibility: Demonstrated ability to quickly establish credibility and build rapport with executives and stakeholders while influencing without formal authority.
- Results Orientation: Proven track record of delivering results and achieving success in challenging environments.
- Presentation and Negotiation Skills: Strong skills in developing and delivering presentations and negotiating effectively.
- C-Suite Experience: Proven experience working with founder/CEO, CRO, COO, EVP, SVP levels on key programs or initiatives.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
$149,084 - $198,779 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$156,539 - $208,718 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$163,993 - $218,657 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
