Summary
As a Laser Operator at Univair Aircraft Corporation, you will be an integral part of our manufacturing team, responsible for operating laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality aircraft components. This role is essential to our mission of delivering precision-engineered products that meet the highest standards of safety and performance.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate laser cutting machine according to specifications.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine cutting paths and dimensions.
- Conduct routine maintenance on laser equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor production processes to maintain quality standards and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve production techniques and efficiency.
- Utilize measuring tools such as calipers to verify dimensions of finished products.
- Adhere to safety protocols while operating machinery and handling materials.
- Document production data for reporting and quality assurance purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating laser cutting machines or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
- Ability to operate a shear.
- Strong blueprint reading skills.
- Familiarity with machining processes.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers effectively.
- Experience with tooling setups.
- Basic knowledge of forklift operation is beneficial but not required.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality control and safety practices.
Laser operator reports to Shop Foreman.
