SUMMARY Overview of the position
The Upper Deck Board Games Community Coordinator will be responsible for growth and expansion of the Upper Deck board game releases in the market. They will be responsible for communicating with gamers daily via all social channels. They will help plan and executing programs to increase awareness, engagement and sales for these releases. They will work with the Social & Content Marketing Manager to develop content to promote these products, improve customer loyalty, increase brand awareness, execute marketing programs with all levels of customers and assist in finding new collectors and fans across the world to enjoy these products. Their focus will be to promote the Rush of Ikorr, Legendary and Vs. System 2PCG game brands, but they will also run point on all other existing and future game brands and licenses. They will also lend help to assist with Upper Deck properties like entertainment-branded accessories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned
- Work with Upper Deck’s Marketing Manager to update and maintain banners and product content on Upper Deck's website and provide content and graphics for relevant e-mail campaigns.
- Develop relationships with the Upper Deck Brand and Legal teams to get all creative assets reviewed and approved before deployment.
- Work to develop a list of influencers who can assist with marketing efforts on releases.
- Develops relationships with key media, bloggers and celebrities to best tell the story of Upper Deck board games.
- Assists with mass media, print, events and public relations campaigns related to Upper Deck board games.
- Assists with strategy and execution of campaigns to promote Upper Deck board games at shows and events, especially virtual events given current market conditions
- Works with existing customers who purchase through hobby shops on loyalty programs for this customer base as well as ways to gather data from them to find look-a-like customers.
- Work with the hobby sales team on campaigns to encourage trading cards shops to carry and promote all Upper Deck’s board game releases.
- Create a content calendar for social media promotions for Upper Deck board games around key events and hashtag holidays as needed.
- Delivering community engagement on social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, Pinterest, Twitch, discord) answering inquiries, engaging with fans and posting new approved content.
- Create compelling online events using live stream opportunities, podcasts, approved videos and other media.
- Assist with playing testing on new games so the representative can speak with confidence on these products.
- Keeps abreast of trading card, memorabilia, entertainment and gaming market.
- Partners with appropriate team members to ensure timely development of all programs.
- Communicates customer care concerns to the appropriate staff so they can follow up and assist.
- Works closely with the product coordinators and brand managers to create meaningful content and excitement around new releases through e-mail, news posts, blog stories and a variety of social media platforms.
INTERACTION
This position will interact closely with the board game coordinators, gaming product managers, brand managers e-Pack team and customer care team along with related Company staff members and external parties. Will be heavily involved in play testing for new games.
EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of related marketing and/or social media experience.
- Experience with consumer products, collectibles and digital platforms is preferred.
- Excellent written and communications skills.
- Experience with video creation and editing a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Expert knowledge in all relevant social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, SnapChat, TikTok etc.
- Experience with WordPress Blog publishing.
- Proven ability to create customized and compelling marketing content.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of the gaming market and in particular, board and trading card games.
- Proven ability to deliver objectives within budgetary boundaries.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with keen attention to detail.
- Superior interpersonal, negotiating, consulting, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional demeanor; team player orientation. Ability to interface with internal and external parties at all levels.
- Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
- Hands on, energetic and motivated self-starter.
- Ability to travel on behalf of the Upper Deck.
- Proficiency in the following software or systems: MS Office, PowerPoint, PhotoShop, iMovie (or similar video editing platform)
