This is a contract (temporary) position with no specific end date. The contract term will be based on business need. There is potential for the role to transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs; however, this is not guaranteed.
  • Position Summary

This position will support and collaborate extensively with the technical training team and L&D to meet the goals of our HR strategic plan. This role will be an administrator to support our internal and external learning management systems as well as our internal talent development system. The position will be focused on the analytics and effectiveness of training in addition to coordinating logistics for the execution of training sessions and programs. This position must champion the culture as a critical liaison to the business.
  • Position Duties/Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Administrator of all internal and external learning management systems. Manage subscriptions, assignment of learning modules and classes, approve registrations, and ensure learners’ needs and requirements are met. Collaborate with external product partners on technical needs, systems and data management.
  • Oversight and communication plan for all Cornerstone functionality changes released quarterly to auto-upgrade MFC to the newest enhancements.
  • Liaison for ongoing communication with internal stakeholders, HRBLs, external vendors, and Caterpillar.
  • Facilitate curriculum changes and initiate proper communication to ensure organizational alignment on updates and next steps.
  • Draft monthly newsletter to support MFC leadership.
  • Knowledge and execution plan for all training requirements in Michigan and Indiana to ensure adherence to compliance in each state.
  • Document standard operating procedures for technical training and L&D.
  • Take training requests, training survey information and strategic learning and development roll outs and create training schedules. This includes taking into consideration customer availability, classroom size, availability of trainers and student to instructor ratios.
  • Ownership of yearly calendars for enterprise-wide training including communication of such.
  • Collect evaluation information to utilize the Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model. After collecting the data analyze information to determine the effectiveness of training.
  • Report and create dashboards for training analytics.
  • Responsible for the ordering, creating or editing of training materials. Administration and submission of training rosters. Classroom setup with supplies readily available. Coordination of meals and travel.
  • Support other assigned miscellaneous duties required for the team to optimally serve the business.

  • Position Requirements

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or education-related field. (Organizational Leadership, Human Resources, etc.)
  • 2 years or more of specific experience in Training, Leadership and Development, Organizational Effectiveness or Educational Media Production


Preferred:
  • 5 years or more of experience with leadership development training or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • 5 years or more of experience in Training, Leadership and Development, or Organizational Effectiveness.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems.

  • Strong computer skills experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and the ability to learn CAT/MacAllister/Michigan Cat systems

  • Physical Requirements of Position:

  • Frequent communication with other individuals. Must be able to able to exchange accurate information when speaking with customers, coworkers, and vendors
  • Frequent use of near and far vision acuity. Must be able to identify objects within two feet or less and at a distance of 20 feet.

  • Work Environment of Position

Position will work in an office environment but may experience occasional exposure to:
  • Extreme heat and cold (above 100°, below 32°)
  • Outside weather conditions
  • Vibrations
  • Moving mechanical parts machinery (fork-lifts, tractors, mowers, and etc.)
    • Wearing protective equipment (respirator, mask, earplugs, gloves, eyewear, etc.)
    • Walking or standing on uneven ground (gravel, rocks, mounds).
    • Noise (need to shout in order to be heard)
    • Air particles (Dust, gas, fumes, steam, chemicals, and etc)
  • Other Requirements of Position

  • Works under limited supervision. Independently determines the approach to take and the methods to use. Interprets policy in terms of objectives. Informs manager of unusual situations with far reaching implications.
  • Major responsibilities typically require creativity and latitude. Employee typically operates with specific objectives but often few written or unwritten procedures as guidelines. Some policies or precedents for action exist.
  • If an error is made while in this position, it will require some effort to identify the error and most likely will not significantly harm the company financially.
  • Frequently communicates with coworkers, customers, company executives, and management.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies to avoid waste, damage to areas and equipment, and to prevent accidents.
