- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior custodial experience is required; training or leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform moderate to heavy physical labor.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and train custodial staff effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff, students, and the public.
- Willingness to learn and adapt training methods to meet district needs.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Basic computer and email skills required, including use of a Windows-based computer or iPad to update the District ticketing system and communicate via email.
- Develop and implement training programs for new and existing custodial staff.
- Instruct staff on proper cleaning techniques, use of equipment, and safety procedures.
- Conduct hands-on training sessions and provide ongoing support.
- Ensure compliance with district policies, safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing feedback and additional training as needed.
- Assist in creating training materials, including manuals and instructional guides.
- Demonstrate the proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Train custodial staff in workplace safety, hazardous material handling, and emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to identify training needs and areas for improvement.
- Assist with onboarding new custodial employees and ensuring they meet district expectations.
- Provide guidance on inventory management and proper use of cleaning supplies.
- Maintain accurate training records and reports.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Uniforms are required during all work shifts. Shirts will be provided; employees must supply and wear black pants and black slip-resistant shoes.
- Hourly Rate: Starting at $19.00 an hour, based on experience.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday with rotating weekend shifts required; hours will vary based on location and assignment.
- Holiday Pay and Paid Time Off: 12 paid holidays per year, along with additional paid time off.
