Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, education, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in financial aid administration or a closely related field.
- Experience managing audits and state financial aid reviews.
- Experience working with Florida state-funded financial aid programs.
- Knowledge of Florida Department of Education, Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and process Florida Bright Futures, FSAG, CSDDV, and First-Generation Matching Grant awards.
- Review student eligibility and certify awards based on state guidelines.
- Coordinate disbursement of funds in collaboration with the Student Accounts office.
- Ensure accurate and timely updates in the Florida Department of Education's Office of Student Financial Assistance state aid portal.
- Reconcile state aid disbursements with financial records to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor and resolve discrepancies between awarded funds and accounting records.
- Ensure compliance with state and institutional policies, including financial aid regulations and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and submit reports on state aid allocations, disbursements, and student eligibility.
- Maintain accurate records for audit purposes and compliance reviews.
- Provide the required data to the Florida Department of Education and other relevant state agencies.
- Assist students and parents in understanding state financial aid programs, eligibility criteria, and award processes.
- Provide guidance on maintaining scholarship eligibility, renewal requirements, and repayment responsibilities, if applicable.
- Conduct workshops and one-on-one advising sessions to promote financial literacy.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the college and state financial aid agencies.
- Work closely with enrollment services, academic advisors, and student accounts to ensure seamless financial aid operations.
- Communicate changes in state aid regulations and policies to students and college departments.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of Florida state financial aid regulations and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in financial aid systems and student information platforms (e.g., PeopleSoft).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills for reconciliation and compliance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for student advising and stakeholder collaboration.
