The Billing Specialist prepares, submits and follows up on insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursement for multiple facilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepares electronic billing for reimbursements from third parties including Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care in a skilled nursing environment
- Follows up on insurance claims to facilitate payment
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation timely.
- Follows up on insurance communications and requests for additional information to get the claims to pay timely
- Follows collection process. Maintains Bad Debt Process and maintains information on write-off accounts.
- Review and analyze EOBs for accuracy and patient responsibility
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively reduce aging accounts
- Recognize billing issues through research and follow up with insurance companies as needed
- Review A/R aging balances and work accounts
- 1-2 years of previous skilled nursing billing experience required
- Experience with PointClickCare is preferred
- Must be a team player and can effectively work within a strong cross functional environment

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills with experience in clearing house follow up on claims
