- 1-2 years of prior experience in a medical office or medical customer service setting required.
- Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and other managed care insurance plans
- Experience in Medical records requests preferred
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT codes.
- Submit and track Medical Record Requests in a consistent and timely manner
- Accurately translate patient information into alphanumeric medical codes as needed.
- Provide consistent follow-up for A/R, including managing the appeals process for denied claims.
- Submit claims manually through portals as needed
- Generate patient statements
- Assist with answering phone messages
- Process refunds due
- Ability to perform manual and electronic posting of insurance and patient payments.
- Assist the Billing and AR team with administrative tasks as needed
- Create and track invoices
- Ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines set by Medicare, state programs, and HMO/PPO providers.
