We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Credentialing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying the qualifications and credentials of healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. Your expertise in medical terminology and managed care will be essential in maintaining the integrity of our credentialing process.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough background checks on healthcare providers, including verification of education, training, licenses, and certifications.
- Review and analyze applications for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with established standards.
- Maintain up-to-date records in the credentialing database and ensure timely updates as required.
- Collaborate with medical staff and department heads to facilitate the credentialing process.
- Prepare reports and documentation for internal audits and regulatory compliance reviews.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and standards related to credentialing practices.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology to accurately assess qualifications and credentials.
- Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
